Cyberdine Champions League

Croatian Spears at the top of the standings

After first two EDU Rankings of the season (Austria and Slovenia), team Croatian Spears sits at the top of the standings of Cyberdine Champions League with 11 points. Right behind them are three teams with 10 points each, Cyberdine Team Czech, Team France and Top Gun Slowenija.
Croatian Spears and Dream Team Italy are the only teams that played all 6 matches so far.
After a great start in Austria where they won all 3 of their matches and collected maximum of 9 points, Croatian Spears had much less success in Slovenia. Andrea Pahor, Igor Sestan, Tonci Restovic and Igor Spehar collected only 2 points for the 7:6 win against Spanien, while they were beaten by Barbot Power Dart Slovakia and Dream Team Italy, both times by the score 8:5.
Team that had most success in Slovenia was Dream Team Italy (Erika Bertocco, Alessandro Polinari, Stefano Barbi, Luca Quaini) which collected 8 points for the wins against Team France (7:6), Croatian Spears (8:5) and Throw Dart Austria (9:4). Teams normaly get three points for the win, but if the score is 7:6 then winning team gets only 2 points while 1 point is awarded to a losing side.
After a minimum defeat against Dream Team Italy, Team France (Laeticia Cousinet, Flavie Pate, Fabien Marchal, Christophe Patitpas, Stephane Didiot, Fabrice Nonnenmacher) went on to win against Spanien (7:6) and Club Moby Dick 96 Italy (8:5). So they earned new 6 points and ascended to a third place in the standings.
Cyberdine Team Czech, which is among favourites to win first edition of Cyberdine Champions League, was defeated for the first time when they lost to Croatian Arrows by the score of 7:6, but they still earned one point. Zuzana Stepanova, Pavel Drtil, Jiri Vorsa, Miloslav Navratil and Karel Sedlacek have played only four matches and so far are on the right track to win the title.
Team ZAD Deutschland couldn't travel to Slovenia so their matches were postponed and will be played at next EDU Ranking in Czech (February 13-15, 2009).
