Luzern dart sisters

It was a big surprise for many when Women's National Team of Switzerland took fourth place at the last European Championship in Prague. Today, it shouldn't be surprise to anyone. Especially after last EDU Ranking that was held in Neukirch (Egnach), small place in Switzerland by the Lake Constance (Bodensee) on November 2-4th.
The progress that Swiss ladies made the last couple of years was on display when Swiss players took three of the first four places at the Women's EDU Ranking. There was an all-Swiss finals in which Claudia Bachmann beat Ursula Pfister.

Swiss girls on the rise
Claudia Bachmann is one of the girls that are seen as a bright future of the Swiss darts. Claudia is 22 years old, and it was just her second participation on EDU Ranking.
- My debut was last year at EDU Ranking that was also played in Switzerland. But I didn't have any success that time - said Claudia.
She beat some tough opponents on her way to the podium, like Viktoria Kiss and Andrea Pahor, members of National Teams of Hungary and Croatia. Her only loss came at the hands of Ursula Pfister in finale of the right side. But she quickly regrouped and beat Tamara Böhmer in finale of the left side earning a place in the finals.
In the new encounter with Ursula Pfister, Claudia played much better winning the match with some excellent check-outs.
Claudia confirmed her excellent form the next day when she won CSS Championship (Compact Sport Schweiz).

M-C-S tattoo
Claudia lives in Luzern where she works in a shoe shop. She started to play darts three years ago, while for the last two seasons she's a member of a team called Hopidüü Darters.
One thing that will attract your attention while watching Claudia throw darts is tattoo on her right arm. There are three letters: M, C and S.
- It stands for Manuela, Claudia and Sandra. Manuela and Sandra are my sisters and we all play darts.
Claudia haven't played for National Team of Switzerland yet, but if she continues with games like this it will be hard to keep her out of the team. Maybe already at the next European Championship in Italy's Caorle in 2008. She's that good.
