Report from 3rd EDU Ranking of the season 2007/08

Trophies for Claudia and Sebastijan
Third EDU Ranking of the season 2007/08 was held in Neukirch, Switzerland on November 2nd to 4th.
Total of 113 players participated at Men's EDU Ranking, one of the four offical disciplines. After many exciting games, Slovenian Sebastijan Pecjak beat Swiss Alex Fehlman in the finals. It was second triumph for Pecjak this season, he also won Men's EDU Ranking in Italy back in July. With points earned in Switzerland, he moved to 4th place at EDU list with total of 385.5 points.
Croatian Boris Krcmar, leader at EDU list, took fifth place cementing his place at the top.
Domination of Swiss women
At the Women's EDU Ranking there were 42 ladies. The tournament was dominated by Swiss players which took three of the first four places. Claudia Bachmann, playing in just her second EDU Ranking, beat her compatriot Ursula Pfister in the finals. Point won at this tournament helped Pfister to advance to fifth place at EDU list easily making her the best placed Swiss player.
In Junior category German kid Thomas Fraundorfer won his second EDU Ranking in a row after beating Milos Petrovic in the finals.
The biggest tournament was DYP wich saw 75 pairs competing for points. At the end, Alex Fehlmann from Switzerland and Pietro Massoia from Italy beat Frenchman Fabien Marchal and Swiss Pascal Demierre.
Next EDU Ranking is in Bratislava on January 25-26.
